Hello Evan, thanks a lot for replying!! May i know which URL do you need?
I deleted the CA and added a new one (same name again) but I’m still facing the same issues.
Not sure what you mean by using the wrong symbol cuz i think i did use the right one. Screenshots below for your reference. If i’ve done something wrongly, pls guide me to do it correctly.
Ok great - I’ve turned on the function (which now leads to more questions).
I am trying to tally the total cash tracked here vs my own excel tracking. It seems I have more cash than I should over here.
What I did was this:
Create a portfolio named “Total” (for easy ref / allocation into Various Portfolios)
Add cash transactions - they’re all dated as of today - to “draw” cash from “Total” to my Various Portfolios
Cash balance left in my “Total” roughly tallies with my excel tracking - no issues
BUT total cash balance of my Various Portfolios seems inflated
QUESTION 1: Is the inflated cash balance due to the dividends collected prior to today, that had been added to cash in the Various Portfolios, resulting in double counting? Because in reality, these dividends had been reinvested elsewhere (now captured in my Various Portfolios). I suppose there’s double counting here?
QUESTION 2: If there’s double counting, what’s the fastest way for me to remove this double counting? Should I takeaway the total amount of dividends collected prior to today from the total cash amount i injected in my “Total”?
FYI - I did tick “cash” in my transactions (screenshot below).
Yes, StocksCafe will auto add dividends into your cash portfolio.
The easiest way is to simply create a “Withdraw” (or “Deposit”) cash transaction to match your cash balance. This is perfectly fine as only current cash balance is used and historical cash transaction is not used for anything except to compute current cash balance.
