Custom Asset - 0 Tvalue?

Hello - why does my custom asset show up as 0 in TValue? I am unable to classify this in my Tag Group as well. Appreciate some advice. Thanks.

I also see these errors - no clue what’s going on. Pls advise!

Helppp…

Hi Serene,

Sure. Always happy to help.

Somehow, you have used the wrong symbol for the transaction. The correct symbol for this is CA:CF (that you have set).

This is due to the same issue of symbol.

Where did you see this?

Btw, you need to fix the pricing here → https://stocks.cafe/stock/recent/CF/fullerton+sgd+cf?exchange=CA

Let me know if you have more questions. Preferably with the url so that I can debug more easily. Thanks!

Cheers,
Evan

Hello Evan, thanks a lot for replying!! May i know which URL do you need?

I deleted the CA and added a new one (same name again) but I’m still facing the same issues.

Not sure what you mean by using the wrong symbol cuz i think i did use the right one. Screenshots below for your reference. If i’ve done something wrongly, pls guide me to do it correctly.

“Cannot find previous EOD” error shows up after i hit “Update” below:

Looking forward to your response.

Hi there,

Sorry for the slow reply. I am currently traveling.

Just the url on the browser. Please use Desktop / Laptop. Easier to support since got url.

Please try again. The issue is on my side. Sorry.

Btw, you would also need to create a BUY transactions for CA:CF.

Cheers,
Evan

Hi Evan,

Thanks for the help - I think all’s good now.

New question: How can we track our cash position? i.e. i also want to track what’s in my HYSA/savings accounts. Kindly advise - thanks!

Hi Serene,

You can check out this post → https://stockscafe.academy/knowledge-base/what-is-cash-balance-and-how-to-use-it/

Evan

Ok great - I’ve turned on the function  (which now leads to more questions).

I am trying to tally the total cash tracked here vs my own excel tracking. It seems I have more cash than I should over here.

What I did was this:

  1. Create a portfolio named “Total” (for easy ref / allocation into Various Portfolios)
  2. Add cash transactions - they’re all dated as of today - to “draw” cash from “Total” to my Various Portfolios
  3. Cash balance left in my “Total” roughly tallies with my excel tracking - no issues
  4. BUT total cash balance of my Various Portfolios seems inflated

QUESTION 1: Is the inflated cash balance due to the dividends collected prior to today, that had been added to cash in the Various Portfolios, resulting in double counting? Because in reality, these dividends had been reinvested elsewhere (now captured in my Various Portfolios). I suppose there’s double counting here?

QUESTION 2: If there’s double counting, what’s the fastest way for me to remove this double counting? Should I takeaway the total amount of dividends collected prior to today from the total cash amount i injected in my “Total”?

FYI - I did tick “cash” in my transactions (screenshot below).

Yes, StocksCafe will auto add dividends into your cash portfolio.

The easiest way is to simply create a “Withdraw” (or “Deposit”) cash transaction to match your cash balance. This is perfectly fine as only current cash balance is used and historical cash transaction is not used for anything except to compute current cash balance.

Evan
