I followed the instructions but realised I can check both the cash and scrip boxes and update it but when I go back in tk check, it is set now as cash. The scrip box is now unchecked.

Is that correct?

If you want to indicate that it is a scrip transaction, then the scrip box should always be checked and the cash box should also be checked.
