How is Free Cash Flow calculated?

I am asking cos i am try to filter out red flag company such as chip eng seng which has 3 yrs of negative operating cashflow and also FCF.

However I was unable to filter out chip eng seng with Free Cash Flow Per Share Dilute FCF per share, FCF < 0

@evankoh

You mean this? => https://stocks.cafe/stock/profile/C29/chip+eng+seng+corporation+ltd?exchange=XSES

The Free Cash Flow is given by upstream data provider.

ok mean data not accurate liao

Thanks for reporting. Checked more carefully. Realized it is a bug caused by making some wrong assumption of data by upstream.

Note to self: Returns TTM data when requested for TTM data. BUT sometimes, Quarterly data is returned even when TTM data is requested. Started performing checks and transformation.

Hi Evan,

Sorry if this is not the correct venue to pose this question.

Something has been bothering me about the stock profile page - specifically on the Free Cash Flow per diluted share number. It always seem too low and all the dividend per share payout is higher than FCF per share.

I went to SGX:C52 yahoo 2019 financial statement to check on the C52 2019 FCF which is $300,600,000 and the current share of 2.166 billion so the FCF/share is $0.139. This value is quite different from the SGX:C52 profile page of $0.012.

Is the upstream provider data still not correct or I made a mistake in the calculation?

Hi BingSheng,

The following is the data given directly from upstream (which I copy and paste below). Just in case, I am supposed to add up the last four quarters, I also looked at them but it does not seems like adding them will get what you have.

What we can do is reachout to upstream and ask them. Can you give me links to your information and I go ask them?

Thanks,
Evan
