Incorrect SGD total value of GBP custom asset

I want to be able to track my overall net worth so I added my ILP (which is in GBP) as a custom asset so that I can manage it manually here. Once I added the custom asset, I then added a transaction so that it can be tracked in my portfolio – I added the cost of the asset as the ILP total value (GBP ~50k) and the asset quantity as 1. I expected this to add the total value of the ILP to my portfolio value as this has worked for other custom assets I’ve added.

When I look at my Portfolio overview / dashboard, I see the value of that custom asset in my portfolio is SGD 2,000,000,000+ !!! (coincicentally the GBP value of the ILP multiplied by itself).

I can also see that that component of my portfolio is up by ~50,000% (coincicentally the exact value of the ILP in GBP…).

Did I key in something wrong or is the GBP conversion using an incorrect field?

Hi there,

I fixed it for you.

The issue was that on this page → Message - StocksCafe

Somehow, the close is listed as GBP 50K. It should be price of 1 since you actually added 50K+ shares at buy price of 1 here → Transactions list - StocksCafe

Therefore, it became 50K+ shares x GBP 50K.

Of course, if you prefer to do 1 share of price GBP 50K+ then you need to flip them accordingly.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,
Evan

Thanks, it’s fixed now. When I flipped it then it subtracted the value of that transaction from my net worth, which also seemed strange. So now I’ve put it back to 1 share of GBP50k+ and it’s behaving as expected.

If you prefer this, you can do this and I can check to see what is the issue. Likely some minor mistake or something.
