I have purchased US stocks and keyed in the exchange rate accordingly. However, I noticed that under the Current P&L , the figures are automatically converted to SGD and the amount shown seems significantly inaccurate.
I previously raised this issue about 1–2 years ago, but it appears that it has not been resolved. Could you please help take a look and advise what might be causing this discrepancy?
Yes, it might seems inaccurate because we are looking at it in different angles.
I assume you mean why is the USD +5.79% but the SGD is +2.47%? It is because it is not simply converting based on that but using Current Value of SGD - Current Cost of SGD to get that value.
TLDR: Even though your stocks have gained >5% in USD but from the time you buy the stocks (in USD) till now, SGD have grown stronger against USD. Btw, I added one more column in your portfolio called the FX% for you to easily see how much in FX% you have “lost”.
