As this is a repeating feedback/bug report that I have gotten from users, it was suggested to me that I write about it publicly so that I can easily reuse my response.
There are basically two scenarios.
- If it is a past dividend (i.e. ExDate have passed), then please report to me immediately with links (as official as possible) about what should be the expected dividends.
I will bug my upstream about the missing dividends and also fix it on my side as soon as possible.
- If it is an upcoming dividend (i.e. ExDate is in the future), then it is highly likely that it will show up in StocksCafe within a few days (usually 2-3 working days).
Why? It is because often users have seen it from places such as the announcements of the Company website or SGX announcements. These announcements are usually where information get released first hand.
It takes 1-2 working days before it gets to all data sources, including my upstream datasource. Then when it reach StocksCafe, it could be delayed another 1 day (since I only request data from upstream once a day). This usually get amplified if the announcement is made on Friday after trading hours.
Of course, if the announcements have been more than 3 working days old, then it is likely something else is wrong and I will get to it as soon as possible.
