HI Evan, how are you?
I am trying to get more use out of the Performance Tab and wish to understand the numbers (%'s) given.
Take AAPL for example, Stock Return YTD shows 17.59% whereas simple calculation of the difference in the YTD closing price (217.96-192.53) = 13.21%?
Your notes mention that theStock return = same as the benchmark, but for example Finviz shows 13.21% also. As Portfolio Return = Port% x Stock Return it seems portfolio return may not be correct?
Also regarding Cash, that shows in the performance tab also, as a % of the portfolio but showing Zero return while I presume the % is included in the calculation of the total Portfolio return. I tried turning off cash in Preferences and while the % for cash changes a little, it still shows as a significant %, 14.27% in my case.
Thanks to comment and let me know what I am missing.
Cheers/Andy R
P.S. I did note your exchange with keat8303 in Dec last year, though I am not sure I fully understood it??
Been a while! Yes, been enjoying life lately.
Got into the craze of Hyrox and lost a few kgs lately
Two differences.
I am using nearest Eod on or after 1 Jan hence the close is 185.64 on 2 Jan
I am including Dividends (after tax) hence another 0.343 (after tax) for that.
Summing up the above, it is (217.96 - 185.64 + 0.343) / 185.64 => 0.17594807153 or 17.59%
Happy to change point 1 to nearest Eod on or before if that makes better sense to people.
This depends on what we decide for above.
I am not sure I understand what you meant here. Can you maybe send me a screenshot? Maybe PM me so that you do not reveal sensitive information.
