Portfolio and dashboard view will show transaction screen. I think this happens when I downgrade from global to friend subscription. Problem goes away when i upgrade.

It is because when you have transactions in more than one exchange while not having Global subscription, it will bring you to the transaction page for you to remove transactions from one of the exchanges 
Of course, a way to fix it is as you mentioned, upgrading to Global subscription.
