Problem with my portfolio returns

Hello :expressionless: I think there is a problem with my portfolio returns in 2019.
Particularly on 22-May where there is no price from the data provider you used then, for Xinghua Port. Somehow there is a price on 23-May, and the returns got quite skewed.

This stock is really alive there and then.

sorry to trouble you mate.

Worries at all.

However, I see the pricing here is very different from StocksCafe. Is it just a difference in currency?

So, what is the correct data needed for your use case? Have a price data for 22 May?

actually I can easily get you the price on 22-May, but the problem is, it has a price since 2018-Feb

It was a spin off… so I think maybe there was no price since 22-May and before :frowning:

Hmm… Ya… This is tough because my upstream support for tickers that stopped trading is poor.

if the return % is unaffected overall, then just heck care it. It makes my return for one year too pretty but I just want to know how I am doing, long term since inanguration …

Let me check if it is affecting your 2019 returns. It should not matter as far as I remmeber but i will check again.

:man_bowing:thank you!

Hi there,

I took a look at it. I think the main problem is because my upstream data for 1990 is kinda wrong (at least different from what you have)

StocksCafe range is in HKD 15-16 → https://stocks.cafe/stock/recent/1990/xinghua+port+holdings+ltd?exchange=XHKG&page=12

Whereas your buy transactions are at HKD 1-2. That explains the 2019 and 2020 returns…

It is not easy to solve this issue because upstreams usually do not fix tickers that are no longer active.

So, our options are

  1. Make this ticker never existed as in your returns for them will be 0 (neutral) → Easy
  2. Somehow inject Investing.com data into my DB and override my upstream → Doable but will take some time to do.

Is it possible to somehow create a custom asset and subsitute it in? That might fix it…

Actually, you are right. You can change it to using Custom Assets.

Create a new Custom Assets of that 1990 and then port your transactions over. I hope there are not a lot as you would have to do this manually :frowning:

thanks looks like it is resolved… no longer look that ridiculous :joy:

sorry to be such a bother but I think there is a problem with my 2020 year returns again… can’t find the link to check day by day portfolio returns (so that I can check which stock jump and hence know which one was wrong, as per king Hua port last time round)…

Okay. Let me find some time to check it.

Btw, it is under debug page → https://stocks.cafe/user/debug

found the stock. thanks!
again, another delisted company in my portfolio which code is reused. same problem.
