Transfer / Moving Stock to other Broker

Hi Evan,

I’m transferring shares from Broker A to Broker B and have already created two separate portfolios in Stockscafe.

Is there a way to combine all transactions and dividend records into one portfolio?

I tried changing “portfolio” from A to B in the transaction page, but this caused an issue — the cash balance in Portfolio B is inaccurate since the transactions originally belonged to another portfolio.

Cheers,
Yuu

Hi Yuu,

I do not fully understand.

Are you not transferring from portfolio A to portfolio B? If so, why would there be transactions from another portfolio?

Evan

hi Evan,

After transferring shares from Portfolio A to Portfolio B, all related transactions were also transferred. This caused the cash balance in Portfolio B become negative.

For example, spent $1000 buy a stock in Portfolio A, the system assumes this transaction occurred in Portfolio B after the transfer, and deducts $1,000 from Portfolio B cash balance — even though the cash was originally spent in Portfolio A.

Any suggetions for it? Should I just add cash in portfolio B to make it balance, or is there a function can combine two portfolio?

Yuu

Hi Yuu,

Ah… I see. There are two possible solutions.

  1. Simply add the cash balance into Portfolio B as you suggested.

  2. For the transactions that are added from Portfolio A, do not click on the “Add to Cash” option.

Cheers,
Evan

Well noted, thank you!

Cheer,
Yuu
