Withholding tax on dividends

Hi, the dividends I have received from US stocks seem not to have factored into the 30% withholding tax. Is there a way to automate this dividend withholding factor for stocks bought from US or London exchange?

Hi,

Yes, you can set them here -> https://stocks.cafe/user/toupdatedividendspreferences

Hi Evan,
iā€™m trying to understand this function and my first time receiving dividend for US shares (Zim Integrated), i understand US shares are tax at 30% but my Zim Integrated was only 25% tax, so if i entered 25% on the USTax Rate column, will it affect other US share that should be tax at 30%?

Hi there,

Yes, you can set the withholding tax at exchange level ā†’ https://stocks.cafe/user/toupdatedividendspreferences

You can then override it at individual stock level ā†’ https://stocks.cafe/stock/summary/ZIM/zim+integrated+shipping+services+ltd?exchange=XUSX
(At the bottom of the page, you can override the individual level on desktop page)

So, it is recommended that you set 30% at exchange level then override stocks that are not 30% which is USX:ZIM to 25%.

Cheers,
Evan

ok got it, thanks.

Cheers
